History of the society.
The society started meeting in
February 1995 whereupon their aims and objectives were drawn up and put into
force.
Shortly after this members/volunteers were recruited in order to raise funds to
refurbish premises and convert these into a suitable cat sanctuary.
By early summer 1995 a number of cats were accommodated in the sanctuary and at
any given time there are approximately 70/80 adult cats and some kittens under
the care of the society.
Since it started the society has re homed and neutered hundreds of cats as well
as being involved in rescuing cats which were either trapped, injured or sick.
Besides running the sanctuary some of the members also foster sick cats and very
young kittens in their own homes at their own expense.
When an animal is re homed the charity carries out a follow up visit with the
new owner to see how things are progressing and if not working out they will
then take the animal back into their care.
Running the sanctuary is very demanding financially, physically and emotionally.
At the end of the day it must be stressed that no cat or kitten is ever turned away and all of these beautiful little creatures owe their lives to the people who run this charity.
