Neutering campaigns to date.

1st Neutering campaign June 2004 aided by Twinkle Trust, Kismet Account and the Worldwide Veterinary Service.

This was the first neutering project carried out by the charity and the volunteers refer to these projects locally as 'snip a stray' events. At this time help was required in dealing with the huge population of street cats on the Rock and the shelter was struggling to cope with a constant influx of feline arrivals. The main aims of this first visit were to attempt to make as much of an impact on the street cat population as the visit would allow, and importantly to show the Cat Welfare Society how to carry out a feral cat neutering programme on a large enough scale so that the cat population would in time humanely decrease and to promote local support in the hope that the charity would gain new members, which is vital if this little charity is to continue. This first visit was very successful.
